Riding the Waves
Life has a way of coming in waves. Maybe you’re in need of an encouraging word today. I’ve found myself in those low moments—emotionally drained and mentally exhausted, caught in the midst of a storm. While I won’t delve into those dark seasons now, I want to remind you that everything comes in waves. And like waves, there’s a pause between them, a lull—a temporary interval of quiet where the waters calm.
In those moments of calm, we get a chance to reposition ourselves. We are crafted in the image of a mighty creator who set everything into motion, including periods of stillness amidst life’s chaos. This design isn’t accidental; it’s essential. Just as the ocean has its intervals, so too must we acknowledge the importance of pausing to assess where we stand.
You might find yourself in an undesirable place right now—perhaps you’ve made mistakes, faced difficulties, and feel like you’re drowning, ready to give up. Trust me, I’ve been there. But remember, a lull will come. You’ll get a chance to breathe, rest, and re-establish your footing. Use this grace period to make better choices and prepare for the next wave of opportunity or blessing that’s already on its way to you.
“Let my passion for life be restored, tasting joy in every breakthrough you bring to me. Hold me close to you and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” —Psalms 51:12
I’m now in a season of blessings, re-establishing my life, and receiving double portions of goodness. I can testify to the truth of these waves. So, hold on. Don’t give up. The next lull, the next chance to catch your breath, might be just around the corner.
